Long Is City, Queens to the High Bridge via East River Ferry and the Hudson River Greenway
My ride to the opening of the High Bridge after 40 years. The oldest bridge in NY built in 1848 to finally bring water to the city from upstate Croton and across the Harlem River is just another NYC Icon brought back by Bloomberg. A 60 million $ renovation for pedestrian and bicycle traffic connecting Washington Heights, Manhattan to the Bronx. …..and yes, once in the Bronx you can walk to Yankee Stadium. Start your trip by bringing your bike on the East River Ferry to Pier 11 wall St then connect to the Hudson River Greenway. Come off the Greenway and cross over at W158th st ...enter the Highbridge Park and take trail to the Bridge.
